Adventure in Creation

Adventure is an integral part of Forge and is woven into everything we do. A canoe trip, a trek across a frozen lake and a solo camping trip build character, perseverance and self confidence. You will also learn that, as in life, you won't make it far without God and those He's brought alongside you.

Canoe Trip

The Canoe Trip is part of your introduction to Forge. The Program starts with a three day canoe trip in the remote wilderness. What better way to make new bonds and contemplate the year ahead than with a new adventure? The Canoe Trip is also the start to exploring your leadership style and ability to work in a team.

Lake Trek

Halfway through your Forge Apprenticeship, you will venture across Lake Winnipeg. Participants walk across as a team pulling sleds and camping out on the Lake for two nights. It tests you as an individual and shows how important it is to work as a team. It also teaches you that what you bring to the team helps everyone succeed. The bond you create throughout the year is so important for this trip. You may be surprised what you learn about yourself and your teammates!

Solo Retreat

Your final Forge Wilderness Adventure is a three day Solo Camping Trip.  The focus of the trip is personal soul care as well as a test of the skills you've learned throughout the year. It's a great time to reflect on the past year and think about the coming summer and plans afterwards. It's an opportunity to spend some time alone with God in a way you may have never experienced before. If you're lucky you may even gain some squirrel friends!
